The team at MVP Asset Management is led by Michael L. Stratford, CEO and founder. Stratford began his career with Friends Provident Asset Management Limited (FSA Registered & Regulated www.fsa.gov.uk ), London, United Kingdom. His initial duties were that of controlling and executing all futures, options and warrant trades for the group. From here he simultaneously managed the Eastern European Emerging Markets portfolios for the group. By 1999 he was Co-Head of the European Portfolio Desk (excluding UK equities), successfully managing approximately $4bn in assets.

Subsequently, Stratford held the position of Chief Investment Officer and Chief Financial Officer for Ellaway Asset Management (FSA Registered and Regulated), London, United Kingdom.

Stratford is a graduate of Stirling University, where he obtained a Masters of Science degree in Investment Analysis. He is a member of the CFA www.cfainstitute.org, an Associate of the CFA Society of the UK www.uksip.org and the European Federation of Financial Analysts’ Societies (EFFAS) www.effas.com.

Torben Rankine, has over 10 years international management and investment experience.  

Torben holds a Business Studies and Spanish degree from Edinburgh University and started his career as a corporate banking trainee for ABN Amro Bank in Buenos Aires, later working as a management consultant for the DHV Group in Lisbon and Madrid. He then returned to the financial sector to assist Argent International Asset Management, a Swiss Financial Advisory firm, set up an office in Madrid. In this role Torben was responsible for building the private client business in Spain and Portugal as well as liaising with fund management and insurance companies such as Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Hansard, Nordea, Banco Santander Central Hispano, Mapfre and Banesto.

Torben has passed the NASD Series 65 in the US and is a Chartered Marketer as well as a certified Financial Planner in the United Kingdom. Whilst English is his mother tongue, he speaks fluent Spanish and Portuguese.

Rebecca Young, Director is responsible for Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Investor Relations, and Operations at MVP Asset Management.   Rebecca began her marketing career and spent 10 years in the conference and professional education business.  Initially as Marketing Manager and ultimately as VP Marketing for Institute for International Research (IIR) and later American Conference Institute/Euroforum (UK), Rebecca was responsible for launching and/or marketing hundreds of conferences in the financial and alternative investments space including IIR’s extensive programming for Family Offices (including the annual “Family Office Forum”), Endowments and Foundations, Hedge Funds (including the well-known “GAIM” series), Pension Funds, and the first Fund of Funds conference produced by IIR.

More recently, Young has held executive management positions for several leading Internet and technology organizations.  As VP Marketing for Nielsen//NetRatings (NASDAQ:NTRT), she was responsible for all marketing communications as well as product marketing. During her tenure, she redesigned the brand image still used today in over 18 countries, delivered a 190% increase in media coverage, and launched two multi-million dollar research products.  Young later moved on to lead the Consumer Division of educational software company Riverdeep LLC where she held P & L accountability for the $15 million eCommerce business, delivering 20% sales growth for the Division in 2005.   Young also brings a wealth of experience as an entrepreneur, having led the successful launch of several high-growth technology businesses.  Young holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Queen’s University, Canada and is a member of the CMO Council www.cmocouncil.org.
